Nicole Quintus has beautiful memories of her spirited 4-year-old daughter,
Lily. Those memories include the plucky little girl singing songs, laughing,
and running through the house in a tutu and sword. Now, those memories
are all that’s left after a 28-year-old ex-con slammed into the
KinderCare Learning Center in Winter Park, Florida, killing the little
girl, and injuring 11 others.
Robert Alex Corchado was an ex-con with gang ties and numerous drug arrests
on his record. He had previously served three years in prison for cocaine
trafficking. In early April, his SUV hit a car, sending it careening into
a crowded KinderCare center. Corchado fled the scene of the horrific crash
and ditched his SUV to avoid arrest. A warrant for his arrest was promptly
issued and he turned himself into the authorities.
Lily Quintus was just one of 50 children that were at the KinderCare center
when the car slammed through the wall. 11 other children were injured,
as well as a teacher in the horrific accident. One child was even pinned
by the car and teachers performed CPR on the injured children. When paramedics
arrived, Lily was immediately rushed to the hospital where three surgeons
attempted to save her life. Sadly, her injuries were too severe and she
was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Lily’s mother Nicole released beautiful
videos of her daughter on YouTube. There is also a funeral and memorial fund
that has been set up for the family. You can donate to their
