Attorney Kimberly Wald Writes Article on Social Media & Service of Court Documents

Kelley/Uustal Attorney Kimberly Wald has recently written an article focusing on the use of online services to facilitate legal work. The article - Online Options: Rules for Service in Flux - was published in Friday’s Daily Business Review and calls into discussion the recent story of a New York City judge who permitted a woman to “serve” her husband with divorce papers through Facebook messaging.

Wald’s article discusses the case, the novel issue of allowing the service of court documents via online and social media services, and what this may mean to attorneys and legal consumers in the future. As Wald states in the article: “the world of social media is changing the landscape of the modern practice of law,” which in turn raises many questions about whether it may become the new norm.
