Over One-Quarter of a Billion Dollars in Verdicts and Settlements

$3 Million for 78-year-old Man

A 78-year-old North Carolina man was driving his Ford pick-up when he was struck from behind. The seatback collapsed. He slid through his belt, along the seat, into the back. The impact broke his neck. He lost the use of his arms and legs, and became paralyzed.

His attorneys filed suit against Ford and the driver who rear-ended him. Ford settled for a confidential amount. In addition, the other driver’s insurance company paid over three million dollars. This was one of the largest settlements of its kind, and may have been the largest settlement in the country for someone of that age.
