Leila A. Billings is an energetic and community-focused addition to the Kelley/Uustal family. She focuses on personal injury and wrongful death. Not only does she help give a voice to those hurt by others’ negligence, but she is dedicated to providing guidance, empathy, and resolution.
Ms. Billings graduated from Boston University with a bachelor’s in Psychology and went on to enroll in a dual program at Nova Southeastern University. During her education, she worked full-time while attending the law school evening part-time program. After a notable amount of hard work, she graduated with a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate.
Ms. Billings worked for two years at Russo, Billings & Rosen, PL as an administrative partner, where she worked on multiple aspects of litigation for plaintiff personal injury practice, including negligence, premises liability, and wrongful death. While there, she worked on hundreds of cases, from client intake to trial and post-trial motions. . She also worked for Itzler & Itzler, PA as an associate who handled the litigation for motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall, property damage, and breach of contract cases including discovery, hearings, depositions, and trials in the tri-county area and out of state.

Ms. Billings has been actively involved in her community throughout her career. She works as the founder and managing director for Attorneys for H.O.P.E., a 501c3 providing pro bono legal services to first responders, law enforcement, veterans, and military service members. Additionally, she is the founding member and director of the Broward County Hispanic Outreach Foundation, a 501c3 providing education, training, and awareness for the need of diversity in the legal profession. It also provides scholarships to local law students who are committed to community service in particular areas related to the mission and objectives of the Foundation.
Ms. Billings was recently nominated, for two years in a row, for the Heart of the Community Award for Broward County, and won the Hands On Broward 2011 Volunteer of the Year award for over 400 hours of service in 2011 alone. She enjoys devoting her time and volunteering efforts to helping children through Kids in Distress, Hispanic Unity4Kids, Pace Center for Girls of Broward County, and other local charity organizations who help serve the needs of underprivileged and neglected children.
